Stamping Ground

FRG 1971, directed by Hansjürgen Pohland and George Sluizer, 81 min, rated: 12

What would summer be without music festivals? For three days in June 1970, the Holland Pop Festival took place near Rotterdam – with bands such as Pink Floyd, Jefferson Airplane, Santana, and many more, bringing the feel of Woodstock to the Netherlands. The documentary shows performances, interviews with musicians, and enthusiastic spectators dancing come rain or shine, as well as camping and bathing on the fringes of the festival.
