Film Restored – Screening – ‘Soleil de printemps’

The film is about the oppressive daily life of a humble employee with a peasant background. It recounts the many obstacles and misfortunes he faces as he struggles to integrate into the bustling city of Casablanca. It also highlights his inner conflicts, feelings of isolation and lack of joy as he tries to meet the expectations of his professional and social development.

Before scanning in 4K resolution, damaged perforation was repaired, and traces of mould cleaned. The scanning speed had to be slowed down due to distorted reels. Due to infection with vinegar syndrome, image stabilization proved difficult for some reels. The restoration process was finished using the software Phoenix.
