Berlinale Summer Special – ›I’m No Angel‹
Back to the calendarUSA, 1933, directed by Wesley Ruggles with Mae West
A frothy comedy about a honky-tonk performer who snags an affluent high-society New Yorker. Mae West is a lion-tamer with a thirst for love who makes a beeline for upward mobility, leaving a trail of criss-crossed men in her wake. ‘I’m No Angel’ celebrates West’s unique acting talents and has earned a place in film history, not least of all for her invitation to “come up and see me sometime”.
The screeing is part of the Berlinale Summer Special and offers an exclusive advance peek at the Berlinale Retrospective »No Angels« in Feburary 2022!
