Why are audio descriptions (ADs) necessary in film and television? Who makes up their target groups and what makes a good AD? This panel explores issues and challenges in making and distributing ADs. After giving a basic introduction, experienced audio film authors discuss current funding criteria, quality standards, and the sorts of texts geared toward different target groups. The speakers shed light on selection and certification criteria, channels of distribution, and how to make ADs accessible.
