Long-haul driver Hannes has been on the road for many years. While driving to Rostock one day, he picks up hitchhiker Herb. The young man has his head in the clouds, and only just manages to make ends meet by doing odd jobs. The two of them hit it off straight away, and Hern starts working as Hannes’ co-driver. But Johanna, who moves in with Hannes together with her small daughter for a short time, upsets the balance when both men fall in love with her.
