Lilian Harvey
Pape, Lilian Helen Muriel (Birth name)
actress, singer, dancer
* 19.01.1906 in London
† 27.07.1968
The formally trained ballet dancer made her film debut in 1924. Harvey was taken under contract by director Richard Eichberg, who cast her in 1926 in ‘Die keusche Susanne’ together for the first time with Willy Fritsch, her later acting partner in successful Ufa sound film comedies and operettas. Following a stint in Hollywood from 1933 to 1935, she returned to Europe, to Nazi Germany, and was at times able to build on her earlier successes. Harvey emigrated to France in 1939.
