Berlin – Ecke Bundesplatz

The documentary film series ‘Berlin – Ecke Bundesplatz’ began production in 1986 and concluded in 2012. In their wildest dreams, filmmakers Hans-Georg Ullrich and Detlef Gumm could not have predicted that a twenty-six-year film opus would grow out of a project initially planned for five years. It is a unique body of work depicting various German lifestyles.

The online archive for this long-term documentation (in German) features a photo archive with images taken by photographer Ingeborg Ullrich. She accompanied the filmmakers and protagonists with her camera during filming and afterward. The virtual presentation also includes supplementary production documents, a bibliography of selected publications about the film series, and the filmmaking duo’s complete filmography.
