As an Aside

It’s 1966 in Hamburg. Young Ole Braum wants to leave West Germany after the 1965 general elections. He hitchhikes, and is picked up by a young woman driving a Jaguar, but barely makes it to the Lüneburg Heath.  

Director Hellmuth Costard combines elements of the nouvelle vague and genre film to create a smart, informal road movie that breaks away from audience expectations.
