Nude Portraits – Gundula Schulze

Aktfotografie – z.B. Gundula Schulze, GDR 1984, directed by Helke Misselwitz, 12 min, rated: 0

Photographer Gundula Schulze has a particular eye for the female nude. She questions the depiction of women’s bodies in photography history and gives insights into her work with models. Her portraits aim to reveal the personality and experiences of these women rather than staying on the surface. Scenes from the everyday working lives of women in the GDR are juxtaposed with photographs showing Gundula Schulze’s sensitive methods of working with the people she portraits.
