Events
The board of directors
Jutta Brückner (Chair)
Jutta Brückner (b. 1941 in Düsseldorf) lives in Berlin. She has worked as a screenwriter, director and producer since 1975. From 1986 to 2006, she was a professor at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK). During this period, she and Wolfgang Ramsbott co-founded the Filminstitut HdK, and she established the “Experimental Media Design” study program together with Heinz Emigholz. Until 1998 Brückner was the chair of the Film and Video section, followed by the chair of Narrative Film in the newly founded Experimental Media Design program.
Friedrich Schmalzgräber (Vice Chairman)
Friedrich Schmalzgräber (b. 1956 in Koblenz) is a lawyer by profession. His love of film started young and can be traced through his family; his mother worked at a movie theater ticket counter. In 1975 he moved to West Berlin to take up his studies. Schmalzgräber delved into the cinematic canon at the Kino Arsenal (located on Welserstraße at the time), but was also not opposed to watching popular genre films. Three times at the start of the 1980s, this exceptional film buff managed to become a successful candidate on the German TV show ‘Kennen Sie Kino’ moderated by Hellmut Lange.
Detlef Müller (Treasurer)
Detlef Müller (b. 1960) is a lawyer and notary in Berlin. An avid film fan, he has supported the Förderkreis for many years. In addition, he runs marathons and is a member of the Supervisory Board for the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg GmbH.
